It’s been about 40 years since “The Six Million Dollar Man” premiered on ABC in 1974, and, gentlemen, we can rebuild him.
He’ll be “better, stronger, faster,” as the iconic intro goes, and — wait for it — cheaper.

I'm just guessing here, withing going to the link, but the headline quotes the price. So my guess is six million dollars to make a six million dollar man!

These might only cost $900,000, but they would be nowhere near as good as the gear that Steve Austin had. The bionic eyes are extremely low resolution. Even the cochlear implants, which are vastly improved from previous models, sound robotic. The artificial heart might keep you alive, but you won't be running any marathons, and your bionic legs would run out of juice well short of the finish line. Maybe in 40 more years these technologies will be up to the task...just in time for me to need them!
