Commercial use of drones by non-pilots is illegal. If you're seeing it, you're witnessing a crime. The FAA comes down hard on this, too. That's why you don't see millions of drone videos done by real estate agents.
As for the OP, the only drones I've seen in flight are the ones I've been flying. Also, you mentioned something about flying near airports - it's illegal in the U.S. to take off within 1.6 miles (iirc) of a major airport, and your altitude is limited until you're five miles from one, with a 400' ceiling no matter where you are. There most certainly are laws governing the use of these, although they're outdated. I read something recently that indicated that there are going to be some changes coming soon, though.
