As someone else posted, seems like most pnw guys are into the outdoorsy thing (hiking, biking, kayaking) as are many women and they both dress the part as a lifestyle statement. Personally, I'm not fond of the tomboy look. If I can't figure out whether or not you're a lesbian I tend to ignore you. I do strike-up conversations with women. However, if I don't get positive interest I leave. Positive interest means smiling and engaging in a dialog not playing coy. I am incapable of distinguishing coyness or demureness from indifference. I'm not interested in forcing a conversation with someone who is indifferent or feigning indifference. If you girls want to be aggressively chased by desperate guys then you are free to frequent Pioneer Square and deal with the guys who smell like alcohol. Good times! Contrary to what others write, I think Seattle is a great city to live in if you are single as there is a large number of late-20's and 30-something single men and women.
