We have had AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. Now we have Verizon and are sticking to it. A little higher cost but far and away the best reception in outlying areas. T-mobile was the worst.

Default Verizon is good, so is ATT

My family lives in the Seattle area, and has found both Verizon and ATT to work very well in Seattle, Bremerton, the Islands, Silverdale, etc. I would think either would do very well for you.

If you're using data, go Sprint. If you're using just for voice, go Verizon.

Unlike most places, AT&T seems to have decent coverage and capacity in the Seattle area. Data speeds are actually pretty good. Sprint may have a slight lead with speed, and Verizon may have a slight lead with coverage, but you will sacrifice speed.

Even though the t-Mobile corporate offices are here, you'll probably want to stay away from them.

I second treezie's post. I've had both Verizon and Sprint and have had no coverage issues in the area whatsoever. Sprint has great data packages, imho. I had some issues with coverage and AT&T (as well as shocking phone bills lol) I was living in Bothell (North of Seattle) at the time I had AT&T.

For what's it worth, if you're use to cell coverage in a more flat part of the country (like I was), your expectations may need adjusting.

Most of downtown Seattle is ok, but I've found that even the Eastside is pretty spotty. I'm with verizon now and even at my house on the east side, I get 1 bar. I've also seen the same with friends on other carriers.

My best guess the "spotty" coverage is due to the terrain of the area.
