El Gaucho. BEST STEAK OF MY LIFE. very fancy and romantic.... we bought a giftcard from costco and we saved 20 bucks. This was like 2 years ago so not sure if they still do that... Two steak dinners and dessert/tip was right around 100 bucks.

When we went to El Gaucho 6 months ago we were incredibly disappointed. I'd go back for sure, but I'd never get caught paying for it. If you're both planning on having steak, I'd plan on 80 bucks a person after sides and drinks.

In all honesty, the best steaks I've had in Seattle are Metropolitan Grill and Jak's. The latter is about half the price and every bit as good as the food we had at El Gaucho. Atmosphere is more casual-neighborhood-ey though.

I've heard that the Happy Hour is the way to go when trying El Gaucho - much more cost effective.

El Gaucho & AQUA by El Gaucho | Happy Hour

Maybe not the best timing for a romantic anniversary dinner, though.

This. I still like El Gaucho, but it is overpriced when you consider that Jak's is every bit as good. I was going to suggest Jak's in this thread, but I wouldn't consider it "romantic" - it's more casual.

Rovers if you really want to go all out. It's super pricey, but the food is amazing.

I have tons of other restaurants in mind, but "romantic" is tough. So many restaurants these days have the crowded backbench with small tables every 2 feet. Hard to be romantic when a person sits down next to you on the bench and puts their coat next to you or you can hear the people next to you talk about their trip to Phoenix.
