Is there a specific men's clothing store in the Seattle area where a taller, thinner guy like me can find some nice jeans and other items? Commissioned salespeople would be a plus if they're good. What I'm aiming for is one-stop shopping at a recognized retailer that can hook me up with basically a new wardrobe for the new year.

Yes, Nordstrom is what you're looking for. In fact it sounds like you may want their (free) personal stylist service...

Nordstrom's ++

Although my jaw dropped at some of their prices, my very slender (6', 150 lb) husband can find stuff there. Whatever we buy lasts forever, which is how I've gotten over it and don't waste my time looking all over for something that will fit him and meet his criteria for functionality. I just head straight there. They will also make minor alterations free which has been used frequently. They mark it and pin in the dressing room, we pay and then come back and pick it up - sometimes just a couple hours later, sometimes the next day. He's not a clothes horse, but he's very picky about the way things fit and quality, and Nordstrom's always comes through. Their sales people really know their stuff and somehow manage to be helpful without that 'commission desperation' shining through.

My experience with such stores is they are for guys who are big and short or big and tall - not unbig and tall. As an example, most pants start at 38 inch waist and run into the 50 inch range.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far, everybody. I am definitely going to make it down to Nordstrom's and (hopefully) make one of their sales associates very happy

It's maddening how frustrating it's become buying clothes if you fall outside of today's height/weight bell curve. I'm not a high-end shopper, but the mainstream stuff just isn't working and I'm getting truly desperate. Fitted clothes for tall but thin guys seems very hard to come by now...

Thanks again.

You can also try some bespoke from Gian Decaro or Kuhlman. The price difference between high end dress attire and custom is negligible as long as you are not using exotic fabrics.
