I will be starting a new job in Maple Valley but considering buying a home in Issaquah because I want my Children to attend school at the Catholic School. Is the commute reasonable? Do the roads get bad
in the winter time? Is Issaquah family friendly or should I just live in Maple Valley and send them to Public School?

Issaquah is very family friendly, and the public schools are very good, better than in Maple Valley though they are not bad either. On those rare snow days, where it sticks to the road, that drive can be nasty. It happened maybe once this past winter, usually not more than 2-3 times. If you buy on the Plateau, such as Klahanie or Issaquah Highlands you add another steep long hill to the
slipper snow drive but again it's not frequent enough to worry about. Many people just take a vacation day when it snows because the kids are likely to be off anyway, if it's that bad schools close.

If you go out Front Street to Issaquah-Hobart Road and highway 18 it's actually a very nice scenic commute, and the traffic is much better than many other area commute routes.
