Amazon.com is charting a new course for one of its proposed downtown Seattle office buildings, unveiling new drawings this week which show a massive spherical greenhouse-like structure capable of housing multiple forms of plant life as well as mature trees. And, yes, of course, throngs of Amazon workers will be permitted too.

The new proposal, which will be discussed at a Design Review Board meeting tonight at Seattle City Hall, is a radical departure from the company’s previous design for a rectangular structure on the so-called “Rufus 2.0″ block. The new biosphere building would be built in conjunction with Amazon.com’s adjoining skyscraper project.

It'll be a great place for the Amazonians to relax in a park-like setting without having to compete for sitting space with bums

The whole of Seattle will become like Fremont soon with funky objects and statues all over the place.

Love it! Amazon is really transforming that area of town! More condos, retail, and attractions should soon follow. Love the way downtown Seattle is headed! Starting to become a place to not just live, but visit and vacation in the next few years. Can't wait to see what us happens with that south lake union area.

I would love that. That movie was great, Pauly Shore needs to do more movies like the old ones!
