I have two hours to research auto insurance companies (spouse is in the car yard as we speak), can anyone please recommend an auto insurance company? Costco recommends Ameriprise anyone had experience with them?

I insure with AAA, I've found them cheapest over the years.

+1 for AAA. You can also call an auto insurance broker who has access to many plans but AAA represents a few companies too so I would still call them.

We use Ameriprise - they've been good so far, but we've never had anything major happen. They're easy to deal with and reasonable (as reasonable as any insurance company gets).

Get the insurance quote before you buy the car. People are often shocked to find the insurance payment more than the car payment. When you have no history of car insurance before the rates are much higher.

Two hours? Come on. Relax. Do your research before you get there. But I don't wanna be a jackass.

Price? State Farm
Worry free repairs? Progressive
Best? Allstate - They will cover basically everything on your car, and give you the best money back

Worst? Geico.

Best of the best? Any Military or Credit union insurance.

Plus, there are tons of resources online that I'm too lazy to look up right now that I've looked up.

God point! I should be thinking about house insurance too, seeing how I am planning to get one, and we get a better deal if we insure both house and auto together.
