The Fire Department in Seattle is hiring. How is it like over there? Is it highly competitive? In Florida it's extremely difficult to get hired by a department. I'm crossing my fingers to get hired. It would be great for my family to make the move to the West Coast.

I think the Seattle FD is awesome...mostly newer stations and all the guys and gals in our local station house seem really happy and like their jobs! I don't know how competitive it is to get a job but I would imagine very because they pay well and have great benefits. But the whole area is growing and people are moving here all the time so I also imagine there is a great need for firefighters too!

Good Luck...hope it works out for you!!

Competitive. I volunteer for department south of there. Worth the effort to try, though. Good luck!

I'm leaving sunny Miami for Seattle today. Tomorrow I'll take the exam for the department. Should be an interesting experience.

Best of luck, the stations, pay and benes are great here, not to mention the quality of life. I am a Miami boy, born at Baptist Hospital, parents still in Kendall. I've been in Seattle 24 years and love it. Please message me if I can do anything to help!
