Hi - i'm relocating from the Orange County, CA area (Huntington Beach area) to a work location in Auburn, Washington early Feburary 2014. Looking for a great community for a family of three (including a 17 months old). I'm not expecting to find an identical place like HB but need my family to be in a safe community with ample outdoor activities with other families and shopping areas locally or within reasonable driving distance. Ideally, I'd like to find a community half way bewteen Auburn and Bellevue but i'm flexible. I've been hearing about Maple Valley area - any input is appreciated. Thank you.

Maple Vally is a nice community, lots of newer homes, prices not too bad. However, the commute to anywhere from MV is terrible during rush hours, especially north to Bellevue. But then, traffic is terrible anywhere in the Seattle region. Best to live as close to where you work as possible.

My commute from Maple Valley to Downtown Seattle is 1 hour via Metro Bus. It isn't bad at all.

Your commute to Auburn would be a breeze from Maple Valley!
