Hi Everyone,
My husband and I are currently living in St. Louis, MO- we both have good jobs but really hate the weather here (horribly hot humid summers and considering we're from the west coast- pretty cold and snowy winters). We've thought about moving to the Seattle area before- actually before we moved to St. Louis, it just worked out to be St. Louis because i could stay with my employer who i have been with the past 9 years.

I work in the brokerage industry in compliance/supervisory functions (FINRA 9/10, 24 etc registrations) with management experience. There does not seem to be a lot of opportunity in this area in Seattle that i have found by search on Indeed which is somewhat shocking due to the large metro that Seattle is. If i wanted to move to San Fran (which i don't) i could find a score of jobs paying 100k or more quite easily.

Anyone with knowledge/insights? My current employer doesn't have much transfer opportunity to Seattle - unless i wanted to take a pretty drastic pay cut and a lot less in job responsibilities.

Thanks everyone!

J

just to be clear- the jobs don't have to be at FINRA- just a brokerage firm and not be a broker/FA…
thanks again.

Seattle has traditionally had a finance sector, but in recent years, that sector has been rocked by consolidation. When banks combine and Seattle goes up against New York, San Fran, and London, Seattle tends to lose (see the WaMu buyout AND the recent Russell Investments takeover). As tech and other sectors have grown, Seattle's financial sector was one of the few job sectors to shrink.

Sorry, man.

Sharebuilder still has an office in the area, but I'm not sure if they are hiring.
