The last time I drove to Bellingham via Fairhaven, I saw some outlet shops on the way, a large complex of them with what looked like thousands of cars around them ... can anyone tell me the name of that? I'd like to look it up before I bring visitors.

I think you're referring to the "Seattle Premium Outlets" at Tulalip (right by the casino).
I've been there and found some bargains!

Yes, and they have a Le Creuset outlet store, we stop often on the way back from Canada, also Bob's Burgers and Brew is there for a meal. There is another outlet mall farther north in Burlington, we haven't stopped there in about 15 years.

The ones at Tulalip are pretty good. Nice select of J Crew, Gap, Banana Republic, Nike, etc.

Up further north in Burlington is the only Lululemon outlet that I have ever seen (it's probably the only one in the world). There are also a few more stores as well but I think mostly repeats of the Seattle Premium Outlets.

RVD.

The latter are basically a repeat, yes. Significant traffic by Canadians at that one. I drove by all of it yesterday, en route to Peace Arch park on the border. Tulalip was a mob scene at about 5:15PM, when I was southbound. Don't know why, specifically, unless that's when they close down for the night. Love those outlet stores in-particular, Ralph Lauren and Under Armor being two current favorites.

I might try going on a Wednesday morning ... think my chances for traffic are better?

As long as you are after the Boeing Everett commute, yes, traffic and shoppers will be less than on the weekend.
