I have been posting my Seattle Condo for rent for the last 5 years on craigslist. For the first time, i am getting 0 responses to my ad.

Any idea if things have changed on how people are looking for apartments? Is it the time of the year. Appreciate any advice on where else to post ad to rent my condo out in Seattle.

The usual suspect applies: how is the condo priced compared to what else is available in the market?

Location also figures heavily in the equation.

It is very much market rent. Infact a current tenant pays the same rent.

I have figured out why this is happening. It's because of the new addition to the market called "micro apartments".

There are only a handful of micro apartment buildings in the area, and they're generally aimed at renters who don't make much money, have jobs that require lots of travel, or want a basic place to live for a few months until they find something else or move to another city. Usually the people renting condos have higher incomes and more stable situations - it's a very different market than the one for micro apartments.

If you PM me the link, I'd be happy to give you feedback on your listing. Even a few minor tweaks can make a big difference in the amount of traction your listing sees.

Zillow is ok too. If you can't find a renter between craigslist and zillow you might be priced a bit too high.

Well without seeing the listing this is pure speculation, but I'd guess:

A. The gravy train for rents and home prices didn't actually last forever and you are priced too high
B. Your listing stinks
C. A combination of A and B
D. You just want to complain about "micro apartments" (see A)

If you cannot rent a place on craigslist, you are more or less out of business... The places I wanted to rent were in high demand and I had to fight people to get them and they were all Craigslist listings.

We're soft searching for apartments right now. If a unit is located in a decent area within acceptable rents (for location and for condition of the unit), then it will rent in Seattle.

Something in your equation is off-kilter.
