What tax dollars? Litigants are normally required to pay court costs -- Court costs - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This idiot woman is not only facing a lien on her house, but she must now pay an attorney -- and the court -- to try and get the lien removed.

Had she responded to the summons, the man suing her would likely have had to pay all the court costs. But now that she's suing (to vacate the judgment and lien), she must pay.

I don't think this is a system that most Americans would want to live under.
This "system" is older than the United States itself. It's old English Common Law that if you don't respond to a civil lawsuit, a default judgement is entered against you.

This woman could have debarked (aka devocalized) her dog: Devocalization - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

But of course, her dog is a special snowflake.

And yes, the animal rights activists would freak.
