Hi all. I am most likely going to be moving to Seattle next year. I wanted to find out about the best areas to live that are most affordable. And also have heard the job market is pretty good. Is this true? My boyfriend and I live in Louisville KY right now and he is working for Amazon. I know Amazon is big in Seattle also. Also what is the traffic like? Anyway, just any more info about the city is definitely appreciated!

Jen, you need to do a "search" and read some of the thousands of posts here on the subjects of traffic and affordable living. If you think a 1 bedroom apartment for $1800/mo is affordable, then you'll be just fine. If you think buying a starter home that needs some work for over $600K, you'll be fine. Both of those rates will keep you out of our horrendous traffic.

If you need to pay less than $1500/mo for rent or buy a house for under $500K, then you will be privilege to our spectacular traffic.

Amazon is big in Seattle. Mostly because it's the mothership. Amazon was started here and is still headquartered here.

Now, do some searching, since we've answered all of those questions about 5000 times.

Hi Jen, What's your budget and what kind of things make you happy in a neighborhood?

You can find one bedroom apartments close to or in the city for less than $1800. My recommendation is to live somewhere along the light rail line or on a good bus route. Keep your car (assuming you have one), but only use it on weekends for getting to and from the mountains
