New to the area and looking for most interesting and different/fun bars in the area. I am tired of the run-of-the-mill bars and wanted others opinions.

Unicorn for a carnival theme and games on the bottom floor. Optimism also just opened and has some excellent brews.

Second for the Unicorn, used to have a lot of off beat theatre people who went in, getting to be more of a hipster place. The Comet in it's new incarnation isn't as perfectly grungy as it used to be, still a neat place though. The Lookout Bar is a unique spot: The Lookout Bar and Grill - 55 Photos - Pubs - Capitol Hill - Seattle, WA - Reviews - Menu - Yelp

I didn't realize a bunch of people hanging out with their babies drinking beer was considered eccentric, but I guess I've been here a while.

Ah, the one in Greenwood babies tend to outnumber dogs by a wide margin.

Try Big Mario's, the Crescent Lounge, Rhein Haus, Rumba, etc. Some of the other neighborhoods in Seattle have more interesting bars, I think. In Ballard, I'd try Macleod's, Hattie's Hat, Smoke Shop, The Sexton, Kings, Hazelwood, the Stepping Stone.
