Just explore. Try something new every week. Don't wait for a sunny day.

Sounds based on your interests that Edmonds might be a better fit for you than Lynnwood. Edmonds has a town core, local theatre, cafes. Everett might be a candidate too.

@homesinseattle, thanks for the info we will be staying in our families home in Lynnwood for our first year while we transition, but after that we will be choosing where to purchase. We will check out both of those areas. Wife has an interview in Everett coming up. I like the Mill Creek area. Thanks for the info!

My pleasure VJ, thanks for your service. You will find that Mill Creek is lovely, more of a suburban feel. Lynnwood is known for....well, malls and strip malls. Edmonds and Everett both are real towns, added benefit of both being on Puget Sound. Edmonds the more desirable of the two, Everett more affordable. Happy to help.

Lynnwood is geared towards people who don't enjoy most of those things. Otherwise they wouldn't pick Lynnwood.

Getting closer to the big move. It is all turning to reality, and both scary and exciting. Good news we both have job interviews coming up!

@homesinseattle no my wife is interviewing for a business downtown, and also business in Everett. I have an interview with the Seattle FD which is a LONG/COMPETITIVE process that I started months ago I have l flown out three times for it, but it is truly my DREAM JOB so its all been worth it. Also I have a interview with the school district in Snohomish county. So we both have some things working which takes a lot of pressure off. It will be easier once we are actually in the state. My wife already missed out on an opportunity with Brooks Running HQ due to not being in the area. It seems to be a turn off when we mention we aren't there yet and still have to move. Either way we are excited and we start our journey in a month, and still have so much to do to finish up moving, retiring, and saying goodbye to the East Coast! Now off for a morning hike...coffee....mmm Seattle coffee....another question favorite coffee spots ????
