I'm getting Boeing flashbacks. I'm feeling like Amazon might not be so committed to Seattle 10 years down the line.

Please not somewhere I want to live.

I'm guessing Charlotte or Austin, maybe Denver.

Federal Way doesn't even have an airport.

BTW, for those interested there is a thread in "General US" about Amazon's 2nd corporate center, and it has blown up!

LA is bidding to get the project. Here's the news from the LA forum. Amazon wants a community of over a million residents, and is taking bids.

According to the company’s request for proposals, it wants the new headquarters to be located in a metropolitan area with more than one million people

My bad! Is it Boeing Field where the military planes with the big radar devices on top are kept, when the roll them out?

I'm getting Chicago vibes on this one. They want a city (assuming metro) of at least 1mil, educated populace, access to top universities, mass transit, and good business climate. Chicago excels in all but the last but can throw incentives their way if they wish and probably will. It's a good HQ city from a logistical standpoint. Other competitors are ugh, Atlanta, as well as Boston and Philly. I'm predicting Chicago though.

Charlotte, Austin, and Denver metropolitan areas are also over 1 million people, so they would all also qualify.

New York is oversaturated.
Chicago reps even made the point to Amazon that many companies in the past decade have migrated their HQs to Chicago. I think it's a super strong contender.
