If you might recall, I did predict that something would cool off the Seattle market, whether it was something external, or Amazon relocating to Mississippi. Well, Amazon isn't moving to Mississippi, and they're only opening a "co-equal" corporate headquarters, with tons of jobs, somewhere else. What if they want more tax benefits from Seattle, and Seattle says no?
Couldn't they say "We're consolidating all our corporate operations in Kansas City?"
I'm not predicting that'll happen. But all of a sudden, it doesn't sound quite so far fetched anymore.

Maybe Amzn is getting feedback from current employees in SLU that taking 30 mins to Get out of SLU in rush hour is the pits. I did it once and unless its life and death never step foot in that area.

Based on the response of the mayoral candidates for this city that may not be so far fetched, sounded like they were going out of their way to suggest Amazon needed to do more for Seattle and Seattle would not offer any incitements, the polar opposite of what all the other cities are currently doing to entice Amazon.

Houston has a lot of low options on land at the present time.

this is what I think too. Many are complacent and think well they're just spreading the growth/wealth. Notice that they emphasized HQ2 is not a satellite office. It means Amazon can one day just up and leave Seattle if the likes of Sawant keeps on pushing insane ideas and perpetuating hostile to business rhetoric

It makes total sense for Amazon to not put all the eggs in one basket. That's basically why Amazon is Amazon.
