No, Seattleites mostly just say "the Freeway" (meaning I-5, dating back to when it was the only one) and "the bridges" (meaning I-90 and 520). Prior to 520, it was just "the Bridge" or "the Floating Bridge". There is also "405", but Seattleites, seldom drive it, as opposed to Eastsiders, who are mostly from California anyway (takes a generation to drop the "the").

Just wanted to update the thread by saying that we settled on Kirkland in the Finn Hill Neighborhood. Thanks everyone for the help. While the commute to downtown isn't perfectly what I wanted, I was able to get a nicely renovated house with a new roof and a 0.30 acre lot.

This is what I love about some parts of north Seattle, and the 'burbs just north of it: the extra-big lots. Especially the ones with big cedar trees. Heaven!

True Ruth, Some beautiful wooded lots in Lake Forest Park, for example.

Exactly! I had a lot like that in Victory Heights, too. There may still be some left, in that area.
