My husband is possibly going to be working in Kent or downtown seattle. We'll be relocating from Las Vegas. Im looking for an area thats safe 1st of all. Im not looking to be in an upiddy area where everyone drives bmw's and there's million dollar homes. Right now we live in vegas, but the area is nice. When I say area I mean the vicinity of at least 5 miles around us is all great. Our neighborhood is full of kids, there's no gangs, its pretty quiet. But we're like 6 minutes driving distance from stores, etc. Las Vegas is a HUGE city. there's HORRIBLE parts, and great ones. Is this similar to Seattle?
We want a safe area, thats good for kids, but not so far from things that it takes me 20 minutes to get to a grocery store or walmart or some activity for my 6 year old like the movies, mini golf, etc.
I've been hearing alot about Maple Valley. But its hard for me to grasp the areas and the size of them. I'll be coming there next week, so Im trying to get a list of areas to be sure to go to so I can get a feel for things. Can anyone help?

I don't think Maple Valley has movies, but it's not far from either Kent or Renton, which has both movies and mini golf. But Maple Valley supposedly has a good school district.
