Work will be in Kirkland. What are some more conservative leaning towns near Kirkland? At the very least, not liberal. Not looking for Trump world in any way, but wanting to leave our current liberal city and don’t feel like moving to the exact same political environment. Also have school age kids, so safety and good schools are important. Thank you!

I am not aware of any conservative leaning towns near Kirkland, other than the tiny Clyde Hill, population 3,000.
Most of the conservative areas are farther from Seattle, more rural, also toward and east of the Cascades, such as Puyallup and Enumclaw to the south, Arlington, Stanwood and Burlington/Sedro-Wooley to the North.

Budget is around 1M. I was under the impression that most of the east suburbs were more conservative than Seattle proper? Perhaps I’m not describing very well. We’re not conservative in a religious or social way, but lean conservative fiscally and we also don’t want to deal with mask mandates.

Well, Bellevue used to be conservative, but that was quite awhile ago. I don't know if that's still the case. It's probably a mix, at this point. And I don't think it's cheaper than Seattle, RE-wise. It was always known for being more expensive, the posh suburb for professionals who didn't want to live in Seattle. The prestige zip code, so to say.

That's the thing with the kind of conservatives that pay taxes; typically they're a well-moneyed class, which is why they favor the Party of business, see? It helps protect their financial interests. So they inhabit high-end zip codes, that in the greater Seattle area would be beyond your budget.

See the Catch-22 there? IDK, you could try Duvall or Marysville.

Where does Kirkland stand politically compared to Seattle proper?

You can Google "Is Kirkland, WA a conservative town", like I just did. Here's what you'd have found, if you'd done it yourself:

King County, WA is Very liberal. In King County, WA 75.0% of the people voted Democrat in the last presidential election, 22.2% voted for the Republican Party, and the remaining 2.8% voted Independent.

OK, I'm doing the same thing with Bellevue and Duvall. Bellevue is rated "strongly liberal". Duvall is rated "somewhat liberal". That sounds like your best bet. RE is more affordable out there, in Duvall and Marysville.
