Normally I'm not one to complain about the weather here, however right on queue, here comes the rain for the 4th. Why am I not surprised...?

We've had thunder and lightning for 12-14 hours straight and now the hail is coming down like crazy. Thunderstorms are rare here and I don't ever remember them going on for an extended period like this.

The lightning did put on a fantastic pre-4th show last night though.

It has been the same here in the Duvall area since about 8:00pm last night.

I loved waking up to the thunder rumbling in the distance and the rain falling outside our open bedroom window.

I've said it a thousand times - this is still spring. Summer doesn't start here until mid-July. If you don't expect the weather to be summery as it is in more southern latitudes you won't be disappointed going into the Fourth.

That's funny because I don't expect the weather to be summery right now and I will still be disappointed going into the 4th.

The problem is that there have been a few really nice 4ths around here, so you kind of have a small glimmer of hope that it could happen this year too. It would be easier if every single 4th of July was rainy so you really couldn't get your hopes up.

Was really refreshing only being able to get 4 hours of sleep. There was some freaking LOUD thunder near my house.

You're not surprised because the weather here is rainy, damp, cloudy, and gloomy and everyone knows it.
