Hi everyone.
I will be relocating to Seattle soon with my husband and 3 young kids for a new downtown job.
We are planning to rent in one of the central northwest neighborhoods: Wallingford, Fremont, Ballard, Phinney Ridge or Green Lake, or in the northeast University District or Ravenna.
My office will be in the lowest (southern) edge of Elliot Ave.
My primary consideration in selecting a neighborhood is the easiest commute.
Could anyone advice what road is considered the easiest commute from north to downtown: I-5, 99 or 15'th Ave?
Is any of these options is specifically worst than the others?

In addition, is any of these neighborhoods specifically popular or less popular for families with young kids?

Thanks a lot!

Most people take the bus - as downtown parking will kill you - and most downtown companies subsidize a bus pass. Mine was free.

So I parked at the Greenlake park & Ride - it took 15 minutes to get to work once the bus picks you up.

And what do you mean by "popular"? They are URBAN family-ish areas. If you want the suburbs with the excellent school and safe areas to let your kids ride their bike by themselves - you are looking in the wrong areas.
