I am looking for a house online in the Seattle to Bothell areas. Not all ads mention the school to which that address is asssigned. I cannot find any means of figuring this out on the school bard website. I emailed the board a week ago asking about that, but got no reply. WA is supposed to be such a high tech area. Surely there is some way to find school assignemnts by address. Any help out there?

I don't know about Seattle proper, but I know other school districts in WA have websites with boundary maps for the schools. I think Seattle proper is funky and has some sort of lottery system. I know I was able to find boundary maps for Issaquah, Renton, Redmond, and Kent schools. You just have to go to the school district website and look for boundary maps.

V. =)

This page has what appears to be a boundary map:

Seattle Public Schools*|*Schools (http://www.seattleschools.org/area/m_schools/index.dxml - broken link)

Good luck!

Seattle Schools is coming up with a new school assignment plan that starts next year.

You're better off sending your kids to school outside Seattle anyway.

sean98125 -

Do you know any details about the school assignment changes? Also, why, in your opinion, are Seattle schools so bad? Would love to hear your thoughts.

We left Seattle and the school district...if you want to know anything ping me. We also went to the best elementary school. You'll notice most people will put their kids in private school if you live on the Seattle side

It's the same as anywhere. Suburbs have the great public schools, closer you are to urban center - worse the education...seriously that simple. Why do you think most families move to suburbs?
