Didn't the Sonics start sucking miserably and for years up until they were ejected? (I truly don't know, I don't follow basketball)

If so, that probably has a lot to do with it.

Well, I'll be happy to have some more people on my Seattle NHL campaign. Seattle does seem like a market ripe for hockey fandom. I'll always be a Red Wings fan, being a Michigan native, but it sure would be nice to have a local team to root for out there!

For me, it wasn't hard. I did rollerblading a lot when I was a kid, then I got into hockey about 3 years ago (age 20) and there just so happened to be ice about an hour from where I'm living now (NC), so I gave it a shot. Only took me a few sessions of skating to get it down decently, skating backwards and what not. I'm pretty decent at everything now, except I still can't hockey stop having my right foot be the lead foot (I don't work on it a lot though, I'm happy I can hockey stop at all ).

No. The Sonics owner was just a D**K. Actually the season the Thunderbirds moved from Mercer Arena into Key Arena was the same season that the Sonics won the Western Conference Championship and played Chicago for the NBA title.
