I live in a small house. It is 680sqft on 15acres and paid for. I seem to have plenty of room for living BUT two things are missing. 1) Storage space & 2) A workshop. Eventually I will be putting up a good sized workshop/garage if I stay here.

For day to day living this small house is perfect. A small space to heat/cool as well as being easy to clean.

This sounds about right! If you're determined to live in a small house and have enough kitchen space, I don't think that you're going to have a dedicated living room. The bedroom will be small, the bathroom tiny. If you live in an area with four seasons, clothing storage can be an issue.
