"Driving" at Costco is worse than driving on the freeway. I have never seen so many rude people. They stop for samples, like you say, and block the aisle, but that's just the beginning. They stop in the middle of any aisle for no apparent reason and just stand there, sometimes with their 4 or 5 kids blocking the entire aisle, where you can't get around them at all. And not necessarily overweight people, just clueless people. I always wonder if they drive on the road the way they do in Costco because if so, they are a danger on the roads. They also cut in front of you with their cart in aisles, cut in front of you in line. Last time I was at Costco I was in line and a worker came up and indicated she was going to open the register right next to it, so the person in front of me and quickly moved in that direction. The person in front of me made it, but some lady came up from behind me and wedged her way right in front of me, then wouldn't look at me because she KNEW what she did but she didn't care. I wasn't going to make a scene in Costco so I let it go, but I was mad. There are days, though, when I wouldn't let it go.
I love Costco but the people shopping there are just rude. I hate Sam's, though, so I will put up with the rude people at Costco.
It is sometimes hard in Costco to even prevent this. They set up the food sample tables either down the middle of an aisle or at the very end where people turn down the aisle. If one or two people are getting samples that is one thing, but many times you have all kinds of people milling about waiting their turn to get a sample.
I cannot believe how some people at Costco will stop their cart next to a free sample table which is already blocking half an aisle, so that the entire aisle is blocked and everybody has to wait for some uncouth slob to take a sample and then stand there and foist it down their throat without even moving away to alow for traffic to continue to flow?
A simple "Excuse me, please" will solve this problem right away.

Why do people do this?!
Because you won't say "Excuse me, please."
