I cannot believe how some people at Costco will stop their cart next to a free sample table which is already blocking half an aisle, so that the entire aisle is blocked and everybody has to wait for some uncouth slob to take a sample and then stand there and foist it down their throat without even moving away to alow for traffic to continue to flow?

Why do people do this?!

Because they're distracted and not thinking. If you politely but firmly say "excuse me" they will let you pass. If it really bothers you that much then speak to the store's management and suggest alternate placement for sample tables.

Actually, they are indeed thinking. They're thinking about shoving food in their face and they don't care that others around them are inconvenienced.

It's not just Costco, it's any store that hands out food samples.

This is the biggest thing you have to worry about? Just smile, say "excuse me" ...I'm sure people would be more than happy to move....

Or...you could just go to Costco during times when the sample people aren't there...try evenings.

LOL! I notice this every time I go there and am always amazed. I bet they are the same people who drive at or below the speed limit in the left lane. It's called being rude and self centered.

It's ANY store - WHY can't people steer their carts as if they were driving? Stay to the right - I see it all the time: people leave their carts wherever and go browsing (some leave their purses!!! STUPID!!!). Don't "drive" up the wrong side of the aisle people.

If you already know why they do it then why did you ask us?

If you don't like it I would urge you to do one or both of the following:

1.) Gripe to Costco. We can't do anything about what happens at Costco here.

2.) Stop shopping at Costco.

I used to let myself be driven insane by the idiots working at my local Kroger. I griped to the store's management and even to the corporate office and nothing ever changed. I got tired of them tearing up my produce and crushing my groceries. The quality of their produce was also crappy. So I stopped shopping at that location. If I do go to Kroger, I go to a different location with better produce and better service. If I shop locally, I go to Tom Thumb, Sprouts, or Whole Foods. Problem solved.
