Black Friday and Cyber Monday are also guage days. these are the days the retailers use to guage interest in product to uncover the sleepers. With modern manufacturing technology and consolidating warehouses in country of manufacturing, retailers no longer have to place orders a year in advance to assure supplies. But they need to act quickly to place orders so they use these days to see what is selling and what isn;t. Once they know what will sell or what turned into a dog or sleeper, they place orders electronically from a consolidator and they know it will arrive in time for regular holiday shopping. This saves them hundreds of thousands by reducing the need for warehouse space and staff to handle the products. they also know that they won;t be stuck with too much inventory because they are buying now for the shopping desires based on timely information, not speculation.
