Call your provider and get on the No Call List. That won't stop 100%, but it might stop 85%. Take what you can get.

For what else gets thru demand beer and be rude. It works for me

I'm on the no call list and still get calls. When I've told the caller that I am on the no call list they usually say it doesn't apply to them and give me some goofy reason.

I screen my calls with caller id. If it's legit business, I figure they will leave a message but most of them just hang up.

I am too, and that has reduced most calls. But I stop 100% of all calls and unplugged the dam phone. I plug it in when I want to make an out going call, and if i get e-mailed and someone wants to call I will plug it in for that time about 1/2 hour. That's it.

When I was engraving silver these calls would come, and it about killed me. Just lost all sence of concentration, couldn't see either as I wear serious magnificiation.

So that habit to unplug it stayed. I get 0 calls unless I know a call will be in coming.

Put yoor number on the national Do-Not-Call list.
Put your number on any state Do-Not-Call list.
After about 90 days the call should start reducing.

The Do-Not-Call does not apply to anyone you already have a relationship with, anyone you gave permission to call you, any political call (note how they exempt themself), any charity, or any survey.

If you start getting calls for anyone who shouldn;t be calling you, file a complaint with the FTC on their website. If they get enough against a company, they will take action and fine them.

Or you can report them to the Better Business Bureau. I had to do this once (and I was already on the Do Not Call List), and it worked like a charm! Good luck.
