I bought two $45 Cuisinart hand mixers within 2 years, both were duds. So I bought a Black and Decker hand mixer at Target for $21 and it's fantastic, and has it's own carry case. Winner.
I have to wonder though if brands that "used to be good" are now manufactured in China? - How many of us remember when things used to last for yrs. and yrs. - seems like all/most are now made to be temporary. I'm still researching, I don't personally want to waste money and add to the landfill on something that will quit working in a short period of time.
