I hardly ever sell on eBay anymore, not because of the fees, but because sellers can't leave negative feedback. It's BS. Buyers do abuse sellers, and they need to have an opportunity to warn other sellers of nonpaying bidders. I have had several and when I call customer service, the rep just says, "We'll put a nonpaying bidder strike on their account." But other sellers can't even see it! So what is the purpose of it? It's a waste of time. But eBay is a great venue for buying. Scam sellers have been virtually eliminated and there is good buyer protection for the ones who are still there. I shop there weekly. It is a far superior venue to Amazon, who is forever trying to shove Prime down my throat and doesn't inform me when a product is coming from China.
Rarely use it in recent years. I have used EBay since '98 or '99, mostly buying. In recent years, buyers have no protections. I have bought items with warranties not honored (honored? they won't even reply to messaging) and EBay instructing me to work it out with the seller when I went to them for help with sellers (still selling on EBay) who are not honoring their sales or even communicating. I quit giving feedback on purchases about six years ago.

A shame. It was a great marketplace.
As far as warranties, remember that most eBay sellers are not authorized dealers for the products being sold, thus the warranty may not be honored.
IMO eBay tried to be Amazon and failed. What eBay was and still is good for is vintage, antique and gently used items. I've bought several things in those categories but if I'm looking for something new, especially electronics, no way would I trust eBay. The vast majority of the time, if I'm looking for a new item, eBay is more expensive than other places. They bent over backwards to please the buyers and ended up losing sellers.
