Is it fairly easy to find a basic apartment in Sioux Falls, or is the demand so high they have waitlists?
I have been looking at several websites that list properties in Sioux Falls, but I think they are just "These are our properties and rates", but don't necessarily mean they have vacancies.
It seems like in a lot of cities with fairly good economies, rentals are hard to come by. Just wondering if that is the case in Sioux Falls, or is there enough to go around.
If anyone has first hand knowledge or experience, I would appreciate it. I am considering a move, but don't want to get into a situation where I cannot find an apartment when I need it. Also, what areas, if any, should I avoid due to crime.
More often than not its easy to find an apartment all over the city, you may not have the first choice on each apartment but there are openings everyhwere
When I was thinking of moving to Sioux Falls, I searched information to find the safest areas to be the southwest and south of Sioux Falls (also the nicer areas, in my opinion
Others that live there may have more extensive areas, but I know when I drive through these areas now they aren't "scary" or anything, but are nice and "home-like"...
It just depends on where your job is, granted the commute times aren't much more than 20 minutes for most parts of the city, but I'd prefer to live somewhat near my work. I live in a suburb and it takes me 20 min to get downtown Sioux Falls for work
When we first started looking for apartments in Sioux Falls 6 Months ago there were apartments galore and every complex we looked at had vacanies, when we came back 3 Months ago to sign a lease 3 of the 4 places we liked were completely full and they expected no one to leave for at least 2 Months so we signed with the only place that was left on our list. It will depend on the time of year so start looking early.
I would recommend Lloyds Companies due to the fact that they have 40 or so complexes and you will only have to do the paperwork once, you can also go to the the argus leader website they always have something listed in the paper.
Good Luck to you.
