Whatever the outcome, I'm sure it won't take away from his talent and what he did during the England match. To Uruguayans and even to South Americans the guy is a hero. This disgrace to the sport talk has gotten past the point of self righteous. Whatever FIFA decide will be just. If its a WC ban, fine. That still doesn't mean that people have to act like he guy is a total disgrace. To me a disgrace is Pepe who is downright mental with the fights and borderline psychotic crap he pulls on the pitch.
This is digressing from the main point though. He does deserve a ban, we disagree but this over moralizing to the point where the sanctity of football will be shamed if FIFA doesn't act swiftly is silly.
Yes it will, this is what he'll be remembered for. Here in the Netherlands he was already known as "the cannibal of Ajax" and now the whole world will associate him with this disgraceful behaviour. I can assure you that to many South Americans, the guy is most certainly not a hero.
How can you say Suarez is not a disgrace to football when he commits this random act of violence not once, not twice, but three times? Who in their right mind bites someone out of frustration? That's something little kids might do but a grown man? He clearly has some kind of mental problem.
I wonder if you would be as forgiving if Suarez wasn't American. I mean, even apart from the biting, the guy is hardly a role model. He was fined €50,000 and banned for 8 matches due to racial abuse before. But I guess we should all get over that and call him a hero because he's a good player.
I do follow football although I admit not as much as I did the past two years. I know about Suarez and his antics. The point is that all the hoopla over him is getting to be too much. And yes me being an American does influence it a bit because I didn't see this much reaction to terrible European players like Pepe or Sergio Ramos during the hey dey of Spanish football. Yes, Suarez should be penalized but this call to ban him but not the two listed above who are perhaps more fierce says it all. I'm not talking about the cup but in general.
I felt Ecuador could have done better. They had the talent to beat France. It didn't work out for them.
-Cheers.
ecuador players, especially the keeper felt no urgency toward the end of the game, WTF? im guessing they thought with tying to france they would qualify to round of 16. what a surprise they got.
It's hard to imagine that the Ecuador team didn't understand, given that there are a bunch of WC calculators out there that showed they wouldn't go through with a tie. Unless no one on the team has the Internet, and they're all bad at math, it doesn't seem likely. I think the coach didn't lead his team well enough.

It was mostly a joke but for the managers sake it would be a better excuse then I didn't bother to try.
Best 'marketed' player ever? This is what bothers me about the Messi hype machine. Nigeria's Musa scored two goals of equal or better excellence and is barely discussed.
