The crowd for that game was pretty impressive. Although it's not much different than the annual NFL game in London that draws 80,000+ every year. It's a novelty to see the two biggest soccer teams in the world play each other.
We just need that enthusiasm to translate to MLS attendance. MLS is making changes to it's salary cap and TV deal, so being able to retain talent will increase.
The USA has a high population and wealth, so it's only a matter of time before we start producing some top talent and make a strong World Cup run.
The problem with this statement is first, The NFL game in london is a regular season game which actually means something and the London media premotes it as such. This was a friendly in "Ann Arbor". How many times has ESPN been cheerleaders in wanting London to have a team based on the 80,000 + crowd number? I think if the US can produce a dominant "Front Office" team and a decent fan base, then we can produce a team that compete in the EPL.
Di Maria would be great for them.. could propel them into CL spots
