Does anyone with with a German car have recomendations for auto mechanics? I'm looking for someone really good that stands behind their work and charges reasonable rates.
I'll never step foot again inside Low Country VW after they practically backed me into a corner and said I needed a whole front axle asssembly replacement to replace a boot that was slightly cracked when all I needed was to have the boot replaced. (They claimed that the labor to replace the boot would cost more than buying a whole new front axle and having them put that in. They also quoted me one rate...never got to my car when they said they would....kept my car over night...caused me to miss appointments....called me the next day to say it was going to be and extra $400 over what they quoted me. Later talking to knowledgable people who know about cars, they told me they Low Country VW lied to me and getting to the boot is NOT that labor intensive. I should have told them to forget it. Anyway...needless to say now I know how badly they robbed me, I never want to give them another penny of my money! What a RIP-OFF Avoid Low Country VW LIKE THE PLAGUE after your car's warranty has expired.
Please Help! Before I moved here I was lucky enough to find an Imported car specialist that offered a money back satisfaction guarantee (if his work didn't fix the problem, he'd give me my money back). He was fantastic. I don't expect that necessarily but hopefully there are some really good mechanics here that specialize in foreign or better yet German cars. Thanks in advance.
Although a trip to the Upstate for routine auto maintenance would likely cost more if you travel from the Lowcountry, I can recommend Keller Import Service in the Powdersville/Easley area.
