Eh, it’s just state pop. I’m waiting for 9/30. I’m all but certain Columbia will add at least one county to its metro.

Maybe Orangeburg will become an MSA county but that's the only possibility I see.

9/30?! Hell, I thought they announce that with the metro population estimates on May 4th. Do they "re-do" the metro populations on that date, then?

Anyone's guess on what county gets added or doesn't as far as Orangeburg and Sumter. Newberry on the other hand is almost a definite, I'd say. I think I remember reading somewhere last realignment that Newberry missed out by a tenth of a percentage point in being incorporated into Columbia's metro (as far as the commuting patterns).

What in particular? You can't respond to a potentially boring topic(s) with a boring response. If I were you, I'd at least elevate the excitement of my response beyond the dialogue. Unless you're bored and boring. Terrible combination.

What counties will be added to Greenville's MSA? There's a lot going on up there; it's hard for me to even guess. Will Spartanburg be readded after it was taken away awhile back?

I would have liked to see more than just what the state population was.

on a related note... Has anyone seen the series of articles about Richland, Lexington, and Greenville where folks are asking for moratoriums on development? What is that all about?

I get the infrastructure concerns it just seemed to come out of no where and hit all the states most populated areas
