How is the boating and fishing in Murrels Inlet and the Intracoastal waterway?
When my wife and I move, a boat is definitely a must. We have a few toys here in Arkansas but no boat. We are not close enough to a lake or anything to have one. And... we don't really like it here. Also, a crazy question, as far as tubing, knee-boarding etc. in the ICW are alligators/sharks/jellyfish a concern when doing so? Thanks!!!! Rob
Fishing is what Murrells Inlet is all about!! It is the seafood capital of the state! They have a nice walking pier & boardwalk, too, on the bayside. There are several places you can launch a boat up and down the ICW and sharks & jellyfish are not a concern in the ICW. There some alligators hidden away but they are much more afraid of you especially when it involves noise & speed like tubing.
Murrells Inlet is one of the nicest areas in South Carolina!
You are correct, this is a great place. Have lived here over 30 years. Beware of the large boaters in the inlet! Some of them will damn near run you over!
Be careful out there and look out for others. Capt. Shannon
Thank you guys for the replies! My wife and I can't wait to move. We'll be visiting in 2 weeks (may 19-25)!! We are going to try to rent a little boat from... maybe Captain Dicks, to just play around. Any other suggestions on rental places??? Thanks guys!!
