n8fann was just kidding. There's no such place. Really.
Best of luck to them if they can find it! People who live here don't even know where it is!

Belle Fourche Reservoir, or Orman Dam, has a neat campground, if you like the idea of feeling like you are literally camping on the water (the campground is on a peninsula that juts out into the water)! We are going to give it a try early this summer - wouldn't want to try it in the heat of summer, though - not much shade, but it looked pretty neat!

COSMOS!!!

Really, I love just going up to the lakes, laying on a boat, reading, listening to the iPod, jumping in the water, and just unwinding. Ahhh summer....

THANKS A LOT for reminding me how far away summer is. Just got down from the roof chipping away ice dams and shoveling snow with a snow rake. First thing I read on the site is "Ahhh summer". Bah humbug

I'm tired of winter. A SUMMER trip to the hills seems so far away.

Timon CG a few miles up from Roughlock Falls is my favorite getaway - excellent trails, wild berries, brook trout, caves, cool nights, low traffic - and a half mile hike to nearest peak with cell phone coverage - Iron creek lake is just a few miles away for a bit of socializing and swimming (kids and us always run into a friend or 2 while there)

We like all the places already mentioned. Many of our favorites are off the beaten path, with very little traffic and we'd like to keep it that way. Sorry, but I'm not sharing.

I'm going to take my Girl Scout troop there for a campout in June or July! Any suggestions on a good beginner trail? They are all 9-10 years old!
