Rain. Steady, soaking, breeze-born rain. Merciful showers. Dihydrogen oxide dropping gently from heaven to the grateful earth below. It's been awhile. Rain to quell the fires. Rain to drench the flowers. Rain to wash the dust from anything horizontal and open to the sky. And that is a big big category.

And cool. Almost cold after the demons of hell held emanated from their subterranean lair and held us in their clutches, cackling, for the past two weeks. (Honestly, Spokane was like Tucson. Only without the cholla and pecarries. And those people creeping across your lawn at night.)

So yay.

Hooray.

It came down in (relatively small) buckets today.

Hooray.

Which is something
about Spokane
that I never thought
I would say.

Wasn't it glorious? I was never so happy to see rain as I was today. Walked through the yard in it and let my hair get fluffy. And now I'm sweaty again but it was great while it lasted. Heard there might even be a little more tomorrow.

Wow. My hair ain't never gonna be fluffy.

Although, if it were, I would resemble...whom? Einstein? Mark Twain? Sean Connery (I wish!)?

My wife thinks maybe Richard Attenborough.

.....Maybe my dad?

While reminiscing a Sesame Street Tune of old;

Three of these things are kind of like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong...

How do you go from Einstein to Clemens to Connery to Attenborough??

Ah yes, the "I wish" stipulation.

Damned if I know. I just report 'em. I don't explain 'em.

Brian Dennehy, perhaps?

Okay, maybe the "Cocoon" role. But not his Rambo character. Sheriff Will Teasle was a psycho!

I'm talking about Brian Dennehy, are you talking about him in your post above? Dennehy plays Clarence Darrow in the famous 1925 Scopes Monkey trial in a movie my wife and I just rented called 'Alleged'. Ended up being an entertaining flick and Brian did a great job in it.

I sure am.

But my wife sees me more as Jack Nicholson.
