Housing looks great, I like the size of the city, I like no state income tax,and it looks like there are lots of outdoor recreation opportunities. I’m an avid walker. There are lots of Meetup groups which would be great for meeting new friends.

I’m concerned about the crime stats though. It looks like Spokane has a lot more crime than Phoenix. Do you have to be constantly on your guard? I’m a single female alone with my 5 lb Maltese and I don’t want to be afraid. I’m also concerned about the winters. Is it perpetual grey? I’m used to a lot of sunshine, so this might be an issue. Do you need AWD? Do roads get very icy?

Can anyone recommend a good realtor? If so, please PM me. And thanks to everyone who responds
Spokane crime statistics is about 20% overall crime higher than Phoenix although the murder rate in Phoenix is 60% higher. Therefore, are you more worried about theft or being murdered?

about the sun, yeah you will have months in the winter with little sunshine and it will probably drive you crazy, the summer's are great in Spokane. Yes, the roads are icy and it's an adjustment to drive in those conditions....sometimes better to stay home until conditions improve.

Florida has no State or City tax and that is a big plus. Everything is cheaper to buy here. I have been able to downsize and retire a few years earlier than planned by moving to Florida. Google "the villages in Florida". It is a great place to retire.
What part of Jersey are you from, Vinny?
