I've decided...it's Spokane. I am a newly retired widower, and will look for a mid priced 1 bed. quiet apt. for my first year there. I'd like to find an area where my car is safe (basement parking would be great.) It would be really nice too, if the area didn't have pit bull terriers behind chain link fences on the front lawns!! I looked up Rosalia, but a town of 600 which is 35 minutes south of Spokane might be too boring for me. I read about Kendall Yards which sounds like a neat urban redevelopment project, but probably it's not ready yet and probably not mid-priced and probably not apt's? I was wondering if Centennial Trail would be flat enough for rollerblading as another thread mentioned that it is paved?...if not, I will buy a bike. I will also look for a newcomers club, singles club, dance club, hiking club, xc skiing and golfing groups. I'm not extremely active but do like to get out with people for both around town and out of town events. I hope to learn to love my life there, by getting involved in the things that I like to do. I guess it would be great if I could find a quiet apt. close to Centennial Trail. Any infomation on that would be appreciated. Thanks. Great site. (realtors and property management companies also invited to reply.)

Hi there - you will be able to roller blade on the Centennial Trail, or biking and walking are good too. Kendall Yards is just getting started this year but if you have time to wait, it might be the ideal place for you. Will have areas geared towards affordability and conveniences all within walking distance. I'm really excited about the project as I think it will be a big boost for the west central part of Spokane. If you can't wait, there are other apartments near the trail that you could find. A 1 bd. apt. can be found for $500-$750/month, maybe less depending on location and amenities. Check out the spokesman review online classifieds. Also check out craigslist for rentals.
