In an interview immediately after the race, Pistorius said Oliveira had an illegal leg up. "Not taking away from Alan's performance—he's a great athlete—but these guys are a lot taller and you can't compete [with the] stride length,"
Oscar Pistorius, Alan Oliveira: The South African Paralympian accuses his rival of getting an illegal leg up.

I strongly disagree that Pistorius is a "cry baby" in any fashion because he is right but is complaining to the wrong governing body.

"Pistorius was convinced that the running blades Oliveira was using were too long, and called for the International Paralympic Committee to investigate. This from a man who has had to fight long and hard to overturn doubts about whether or not he himself has an unfair advantage when he is competing against non-disabled runners.

The twist in the story is that it is the very fact Pistorius wants to run in the Olympics and other able-bodied competitions that cost him here.

To do crossover like that, he can only run on blades that have been cleared for use by the IAAF, the sport's governing body. Longer blades, of the kind Oliveira used, are only legal in Paralympic events.

If Pistorius switched, he would not be able to run in non-disabled competitions."

The use of these new type "legs" is still in it's infancy when it comes to sporting events. No standard really exist for both para and normal sports events that allows one style of leg for both events.

Just what are the rules for leg's in para-lymics ??

Oscar Pistorius row: what are the rules on blades at the Paralympics? | Sport | The Guardian

One fact is clear......None of the runners can be considered losers based on a yet to be decided length of their legs.

IMO they are heros all!!

At that moment after the race where he complained about the blade length, Pistorius was a crybaby. Its amazing his lack of clarity since he was attributing his Oliveria's length of the blade as the only reason he won, not thinking that training, conditioning or other factors also come into play.

When you lose a race by .07 of a second Pistorius is well within his right to question the leg length (which control the ground covering stride) of a competing runner.

Neither is at fault since there is no limits to length today. I think that will change quickly as the playing field levels over time.

Agreed, he has the right to question all he wants, but still sounded like a crybaby after he lost the race.

Don't have to sell you on anything, but calling it the way i see it. I'm just speaking to his actions after the race, and to me, he acted like a crybaby during the post -race interview. Perhaps crybaby is too harsh? How about words like sore loser, sour grapes, bitter, etc? Cmon, he was not gracious in defeat; he brought up a larger issue that soured Oliveira's victory whether he meant to or not. At least he came to his senses and apologized afterwards.
