I have zero interest in spectator sports. The Olympics is just an interruption to our local TV station newscasts. Today it seems to be about which country is best at hiding the doping of its athletes.

might be a good thing , the usa always win the most medals , if the american population had more interest in the event , they might win even more

china usually come second , i imagine the chinese population are interested in it , they tend to prefer olympic type sports

I wouldn't exactly say a waste.. It is like other big projects around the world.. Sometimes toooo much money is spent for little return...

NOW some of the sports int he Olympics need to go..

GOLF??? What the Heck does golf have to do with the Olympics.... Badminton, Table Tennis, Trampoline??? Seriously????

If you cannot compete in a real sport then don't compete at all....

Badminton and table tennis are huge sports in Asia. With professional players and everything. The Olympics are international. They aren't intended to appeal only to Americans.

I couldn't care less about the olympics and I do agree they are a waste of money and effort. But I am not interested in spectator sports in general.

I really have no interest in any sports including the Olympics. I do somewhat like Track and field but I don't care to really watch it. So yeah, the Olympics are a waste and I will gladly not watch it

I think they served a purpose at one time, but not any more. The country that hosts it also gets a huge financial loss generally, countries that can not afford it in the first place.

I don't follow them at all.

A lot of money could be saved if a permanent sight was picked.
