My goodness, these systems develop quickly! I had looked at the weather map last night, and the whole country was quiet except for a few small areas. At 5:25 Central time today, most of the entire Great Plains region has just erupted with major activity. Much of eastern Kansas is getting hit with a lot of yellow, orange and red regions.
Plains10 must be right in the crosshairs right now--let us know if you're faring OK, please!
We can hope these systems move through the region quickly so as to minimize the chances of additional flooding. Take care and be safe!
(In northern CA, we've received the first rainfall in close to two months--probably between a quarter to half an inch. Nothing major--no thunder or strong winds or anything like that. Still about 6 inches below normal here in Santa Rosa for the year dating back to last July 1--around 24 inches)
