....I have a sibling there...why are you in favor and is that just the city limits or some of the small cities that surround it also? Just wondering thanks.

Based on the article, I think it is just the City of St. Louis. I agree with Rep. Colona that it would help pass along legislation that is important in our area, to give us a voice. I'm excited to see how far this goes.

Didn't Bill McClellan suggest that St. Louis should join Illinois?

Cities and parts of states are claiming they're going to do this all the time, but it would have to pass US Congress.

I think both KCMO and StL City should split away from stupid Missouri.

Dumb. We already have way more $$ being spent inefficiently by being our own county, no need to add state level responsibilities and related $.

Do you understand the potential ramnifications if they were to do such?
Those of us that choose to live in the suburbs but frequent the city amentities (read: we spend our higher median household income in your jurisdictions) may be a bit put off by this elitist/separatist attitude.
In addition, I'm not sure about Kansas City, MO (a fine city I've enjoyed visiting a few times watching my Broncos blast the Chiefs at Arrowhead, love Oklahoma Joe's! ), but those in St. Louis City - is your current government/leadership up to the task of governing a state-level entity? Can you deal with Fedzilla interloping with any progressive growth ideas? States' rights are most certainly not what they once were.
