I just had breakfast this morning with a guy who said two of his daughter's friends were carjacked this very weekend in the city leaving a group of friends at a bar. Gun in face, car stolen. Didn't get the details as it was a group breakfast and the conversation moved on to other topics.

I doubt it made the news. Do you have a hard time believing this is happening with some frequency? I certainly don't.

Yes, I doubt the veracity of this story.

This forum has a history of one-day troll accounts.

I'm always suspicious of a first time posters - particularly the ones that begin a thread with a lot of negativity.

What does that say about St. Louis, if anything?

That there's at least one person who enjoys trolling it and has a lot of free time?

I'm pretty certain we have one very consistent troll. The basic premise is always very similar.

This person says nothing about his target but speaks volumes about himself.

We were robbed at gunpoint two blocks west. A disgusting and disappointing conclusion to a lousy evening, and your city police personnel could not be more apathetic.
Wow - just an amazing and unbelivably bad experience there in that town...
Robberies happen all over the country. NYC metro area has plenty of spots where robberies occur on a daily basis.

St. Louis Police Department is pretty lousy in many areas but the area you are writing about is very good and they are very sensitive to protecting tourist.
