The news has been pumping this one for over a week. Some folks are going to have some bad luck tomorrow but not me, I ran all my errands today. I didn't stock up like they're telling us to, I don't see this ice lasting more than 24 hours. My main concern is the power going off and if that happens that means no furnace. Even at 40 degrees outside it gets too damn cold in my house. Hopefully the weathermen will be wrong again. Drive careful if you have to go out tomorrow.

I was impressed by local crews on this storm. The response was certainly better than the ice event we had in December. Roads were treated everywhere. News said there was some ice on rural routes, but the City roads were all clear.

I think the December storm helped to scare people from driving. I know a lot of people who worked from home on Friday, and my SO's work put his department up in a hotel Friday night because they had work to do Saturday. Pretty much all the schools were closed Friday, as were many businesses. With a lot less people on the roads, MoDOT was able to better treat the roads.

Glad that's over. Even with all that ice on the trees and power lines I was lucky not to be one of those that lost power. Streets never got that bad around here. We finally get to see the sun Wednesday.
